BMW

This model is of a 2 door 325 BMW coupe. It too was assembled from kit but the kit is die cast. It was prepainted. This kit was made by Testor (I think). BMW Posted by Hello

This looks so real, Scratchie. How long did it take you to make this one?

Hi Melody, Actually the die cast cars are lot easier to do since they come prepainted. The only time that it gets tricky is when the paintwork is flawed and the modeller feels that he "must" fix it. This one took about thre or four days. The end result is better than the plastics but the enjoyment factor is greatly reduced. Painting is what takes a lot of time. It is just like bodyworking a real car.The sanding and body filler and sanding and wet sanding and spray and sanding and respray etc.

Sir Scratchie, I would have sworn that I had commented on this one you know. I must have meant to and not done it. I liked the Subaru Impreza a lot. The BMW was nice but in model form, I liked the Impreza more. How many models do you have in all, Scratchie?

Hi MB, after throwing out the damaged ones I have 10 cars, 5 planes, 1 unfinished car, 2 unbuilt helicopters, 1 unbuilt submarine. The unbuilt ones are there because the kits are unavailable in Jamaica so I order them online in bulk. So it actually saves me more to buy several kits at once and ship 1 package rather than to ship them one by one.
